Chinese Orchestra Concert!

Also on the 24th, I stayed in Church until 5.40pm. At 1pm, we watched the video footage that was taken at the Camp they had in March. It was about an hour long. At 5pm, we started our Youth Service. The worship songs ended at 5.40pm and I had to take my leave :( (didn't want to go...).
I took a bus to orchard and took the MRT to City Hall to meet my friend Leon there. On the Bus, he told me he would be late. So instead of meeting him at 6, He arrived at 6.25pm. We then took the MRT to Tanjong Pagar. We went nearby to eat at Burger King, eating finish at 7pm.
We made our way to the Singapore Conference Hall and got the tickets from our Drum Major there. We soon had to go in and be seated.
Overall...I found the concert very good. :D They invited a CO from China as well...So, they collaborated and put on a good show. Even the Primary CO played well and showed the Audience why they deserved a GOLD at the SYF that year. They had mini concertos by each instrument and the finale was abit of a cold joke. They played the Lullaby, but then, no one was sleepy...haha
It ended at 10+ and we took the MRT home. I stopped at Bishan to accompany Leon who lived near Bishan to have a snack at Macdonalds. I went home after that.

EE workshop!

The last week of the June Holidays(22th to the 24th), we had Detonate EE workshop. Throughout these 2 and a half days of a crash course on EE, we had learnt alot more and understood better by experiencing on the street witnessing. The first two days started with worship songs. After the worship songs, we had a talk, teaching us what was EE, how to do EE, what to say, what not to say...Illustrations...etc.
After the talk, we had lunch and we set out for Tiong Bahru Shopping centre to do our street teen survey. Through the survey, we transitioned to the Gospel by using the 2 diagnostic questions. By GOD's Grace, some were assured and some professed! To those who we contacted, I just hope that they come and get to know the NEW LORD and SAVIOUR better! :D
On Saturday, we had our Written and Oral tests on EE. I think I'm able to pass...only did not know a few questions for the written and I don't think I screwed up the oral...so yea...
But I just want to thank Qiaolin and Lionel(organisers), the trainers and GOD.
Hope that we can do more EE in the future and touch more Lives. :D

Testimony for GOD on 17th June 2006

Well, the sessions with invited speakers coming to talk to us have really made an impact since I came to join the Youth Service. The ones that were very meaningful were the the messages on constantly being HUMBLE and that we sometimes use human methods instead of relying on GOD or the HOLY SPIRIT because we usually do things unknowingly.

Moving on, how many of you here know how to ride a bike? (Raise your hands)
Ok, I'll touch on that later.

As I told some of you all, I had a Sec3 camp from the last day of school, Friday to Monday. Well, the camp was pretty tough and dangerous, especially the Climb to the Cave. There were deep drops and obstacles to get through. Fortunately, none of us were seriously injured and that was the FIRST time i climbed up rocks to reach the cave. I was nervous, yet excited. Throughout the camp, I felt that GOD had protected us. Back to the Cycling part, I just learned how to cycle last week, on Tuesday! It was after band practice and the leaders were having a meeting with the teachers. So, I was feeling adventurous, cause of the Sec3 camp and wanted to learn how to Cycle. Shawn decided to teach me, so we went to the track and with his and GOD's help, I was able to cycle in less than 10minutes. I managed to do these with the help and grace of GOD.

Therefore, GOD is always there for us. As we grow, glow and go together, GOD will TEACH/REMIND us of certain things! GOD IS GOOD!!!

Church Camp

Back From Church Camp yesterday. Overall, a nice and fun camp.
The first day, we arrived at the Sofitel Palm Resort at around 1pm, had lunch then games until around 4pm as the rooms were not ready yet. After checking in to our rooms, we soon had dinner at 6pm. After dinner, we had our first service session of coming together and worshipping the Lord. It ended at 10pm. As soon as the service had ended, some immediately went to look at the scoreline of the two soccer teams playing that night. I went back to my room and watched the remaining half and soon went to sleep.
The second day, we woke up at 7am, got ready for the morning devotion at 7.30am. After the devotion, we had our breakfast at 8am. The second service session started and ended at around 12pm. After lunch, we had some games and then free time. We went to the sports centre and played table tennis and bowling. We had dinner once again at 6pm. Session 3 was at 7pm and ended at 10pm. I went to Joshua's room (Lionel and Nicholas sharing that room as well) and watched the Telecast of the live match that day. We ordered pizza and after eating the pizza, I went back to my room and slept.
The third day, was the most relaxing...lol... Breakfast, Session 4, lunch. After Lunch was FREE TIME from 1pm to 6pm. I went with Joshua, Nicholas, Bryan, Xiangting and daphne to play Chess at the Library there first, took about an hour... then, went for bowling all the way till 6.30pm. We had dinner, Session 5 and after the service, Nicholas, me, Joshua, Shunpei, Bryan went to WanEr and Rachel's room. We ordered two pizzas and a salad, which rachel did not eat in the end..haha... We played Murderer through squeezing of hands as well. We watched the show "Totally Spies" haha...and WanEr played with the match and insect repellant. They went for a early morning walk and when they came back, I went back to my room to sleep at 1.30am.
The last day, we had devotion once again, breakfast, session 6. We checked out after the session and went for lunch at a restaurant. Qiaolin was still not well as she did not eat much. We went for Shopping after lunch. We spent about an hour or so there. I bought a Barney Toy with music for Qiaolin and Pooh bear Toy with the words Happy Birthday for Vanessa as both their birthdays had passed and i did not get anything from them that day. Felt bad as I couldn't get anything else for others because I did not have any more money with me and did not know my Mom had 200 with her...-_-
I enjoyed this camp as I got to know others better and the Sessions were really Great, especially the Speaker Robert Lum. He talked about GLOWING, the HOLY SPIRIT and EVANGELISM. It was really meaningful and interesting. Looking forward to more camps and sessions like these.

X-men 3

Watched it on Thursday, 8th June with Shawn, Aaron, YueSheng and Jason after Band Practice. We caught the 1.35pm show at AMK Jubilee. The show was not bad, the story line abit weird though haha... Nice graphics... After the movie...we all went home...

Global Day of Prayer

Global Day of Prayer was overall fun. We went for Church as we usually do. We went for Lunch after Church service. After lunch, we took a bus to the Stadium. At the Stadium, many people were there. We were greeted warmly and took bottles of water which would be necessary later.
We were required to help pack the Goodie Bags. Each bag had a flag, booklet, biscuit, bottle od water. We did 3 sets in total, each set taking about half an hour(we were fast haha). After that, we helped throw the rubbish bags into the big bin and had dinner. After dinner, we went to the seats and got ready for the event to start. We started with some songs and soon started to pray. There was a pattern of singing songs, praying, singing songs, praying. It was nice to pray for the country, other countries...etc... Singing songs to the LORD was GREAT as well.
Overall...a very meaningful and fruitful experience that day. Btw, saw my band senior Jason(percussionist) on the way out of the Stadium....lol...

Band Camp

We had our Band Camp on the 2nd and 3rd June. To start off the day, we had rehearsals...of course...lol... We had combined practice till Lunch time which was around 12pm. After lunch, we had abit of drills and PT. I would not say it's very Physically demanding...more like slack haha.
The most fun activity of the camp(in my opinion) was next. We had water balloon fight. We were fallen in by our Drum Major and they warmed us up for the Game by pouring water on everyone. Next they were each given the same amount of bags for usage during the activity. They were in groups and 2 groups would take turns to fight each other. The group with the most people NOT wet would win overall. Me and Aaron had no group while Clinton did not want to join his group, so we went together with shawn and yunsong and filled up some bags and pails of our own. We went around and wet the whole band. haha...so fun...
We were given 30mins to wash up and change. After changing, the band went to the Music Room to watch a programme on the Berlin Philharmonic while some Sec3s, got the Barbeque ready. We also had to move out some stuff from the Primary School Dance Studio's storeroom. We found instruments, scores and more in it. After the BBQ, the band went to watch Scary Movie 4 in the Music Room. After the Movie, they were required to go to sleep as we had planned a Night walk for them at 2am.
At 2am, the Night walk commenced, but overall...it was very short. They had to make sure that the candles given to them were lighted at the end of the activity. 2 groups had both still burning, 2 had only 1 while 2 had none. At 7am, we had Drills and PT once more. We stopped at 8am, had breakfast and went to the Band Room to do Reflections on the Camp. After reflections, we soon left for Lunch at AMK's Seoul Garden. At Seoul Garden, the group with the highest points gathered during the camp won a voucher and tickets to a movie while the others got vouchers and consolation prizes of chocolates. So..everyone won in the end. After that, we were dismissed. Overall...a nice and fun camp...

Sec3 CAMP! (part2)

We assembled in the school hall at 6.45am. They took attendance and arranged us in our groups. Some of them could not make it or purposely did not come or pay up the amount of money for the camp. We soon set off for the customs. After the customs, we stopped for a pre-lunch and then we went to our destination for lunch. We went our seperate ways after lunch for our various activities (they consisted of Caving, Rafting, Trekking and Cycling).
The trip by bus to the 1st Camp Site was 11hours! Man, thats almost equivalent to the time of taking a plane trip to Kerkrade :). We had to stop now and then for toilet breaks. When we reached there, it was already 7pm. It was slightly raining. We put down our bags, carried the tents to the cave we were sleeping in and set it up. We had dinner soon after (Maggi Noodles). We went for a night walk through a nearby cave. It had lighting inside and the railings and parts of the floors had bat shit...lol. After the walk, we went back to the campsite, washed up and soon went to sleep.
The next day, half of the group went for Absailing first while the other half went for Caving. My group went for Caving first. The total distance we travelled was more than 500metres and the height we climbed was roughly 200m?(some said 500m vertical)...We had to trek through the forest and climb up rocks to reach the cave. The journey to the Cave was quite dangerous as we had no safety rope, therefore, if any of us had lost our balance and fell...that would be the end. At that point of time, I was feeling scared and yet invigorated by the thought. When we reached the cave, it was so dark that if we turned off all the torch lights, we could not see our hands even if it was right infront of us. We had to run through the cave as the Bats were flying directly above us and were doing their "business"...o.O I slipped abit and got abit of bat shit(guano) on my hands... Phew...the cave eluded a pungent smell of bat shit... I quickly got up and carried on. After climbing our way out to the exit of the cave. We had to take turns to climb down a 99 step ladder and trek our way back to the campsite through the forest again. It took a total of 4hours!
When we reached basecamp, we had lunch and soon, went for Absailing. Absailing was easier, but the wait took quite awhile. I scraped myself abit during these 2 activites. However, after completing them, it was a GREAT feeling. We had to keep the tents and move to the next campsite soon. We left there at 6pm after keeping the tents and getting out bags.
On the way there, at around 7pm, we saw some cows on our way there. We reached the restaurant which was near the campsite at around 8pm. We had our dinner and some did their "business" in the better toilets. After dinner, we set up our tents at the campsite and soon, were debriefed, washed up and went to sleep.
The next morning, before we went for breakfast, a little "show" happened. Wee Seng...irritated Zhi Wei and Zhi Wei got so pissed that he scolded F*** and even exclaimed that he wanted to go back to Singapore and that he would even prove it by walking back if he had. When the teachers tried to stop him and calm him down, he said F*** again...However, they got the situation under control and soon, both of them apologised to one another...(phew)
After breakfast, we took a boat to the nearby islands and had our trek there. We had to wait awhile to walk the treetop canopy. It was fun as we walked on the planks held together safely by ropes and ropes at the sides. Although it was abit shaky, we all made it and no one fell off...haha...though it was impossible that someone would fall off. We then trekked up and trekked down again. After the trek, we went back to the main island and had lunch. We changed into shoes suitable for the rapid shooting. We then took boats again and rode further out. It was fun as we got wet and the last part when we were coming back was hilarious as well. The back part of the boat was flooded and cockroaches in the boat were running about...hahaha...so much fun...
We soon went back to basecamp and changed our clothes or dried ourselves. Then we had some drinks at the nearby coffeeshop as the buses were late. While waiting, there was a downpour...The Buses soon came and we set off for the restaurant we were going to eat dinner at. The ride there was cold as it had just rained and it was one of those buses using windows, not aircon, so i was shivering on the way there (brr). lol....
When we reached there, we had a headcount and settled our seating for dinner. Mr Goh was scolding the rest when we had arrived. However, we did not hear what he said as the rest were inside while we were outside. After dinner, i mixed around with some of my classmates who went for the other activities. Some were red and sunburnt...yup...(those that went rafting and cycling..i guess). They gave out some prizes to some they thought did better than their expectations in the camp or stood out by leading. Soon, we filled up a survey form and left for the Train station. We waited 2 hours for the train to arrive (from 12 to 2 am). Played some cards while waiting (daidi).
The train arrived at 2am. We boarded it but we had to sort out some seats. Most of us slept on the journey back to Singapore. It stopped at the Woodlands checkpoint. It was on the afternoon of Monday. Went for lunch with some friends after we were dismissed, then went home. Was pretty tired...unpacked when i reached home, then took a bath. Then ate dinner, then used the computer...around 10, i lay on my bed...and as i was tired, i just slept there till the next day.
The next day, i woke up at 9am. Got ready then left for school for extra lessons. Yup...Tiring lol...
Well that sums up the CAMP... Tomorrow still have Band camp till Saturday Afternoon(lunch)...held in school... k, bye
