Thoughts:
Just wondering to myself...as I see people around me who have gotten into a relationship and yet they get their hearts all broken into pieces and such.
Love is a funny thing. It is unexplainable sometimes...weird and frustrating. Many rush into one without knowing the responsibilities...the severity of it not working out and eventually leading to a breakup. I guess the initial stage of courtship is PASSION and attraction? But that PASSION can and may die out as time progresses. What would one do then? Grow tired and just change target? Continue to work at the relationship?
People are never perfect...and we all have our shortcomings and idiosyncrasies. In the end, I guess that someone you get into a relationship with...has to be someone whose flaws you can accept and can see as your potential spouse to be. Unless...you're the type thats after a short fling? Or experimenting? BUT experimenting can HURT someone's feelings...
Feelings of trust once broken are not easily mended. Why would people then still take the risk and play the field...causing them to fill completely empty and dry at the end of it all...tired of trying...cynical about Love.
The question to ask oneself then would be:
1) Is it better to have never loved or to have loved and lost?
For myself, I haven't jumped into one yet...
and I know I'm not exactly ready...
I don't want to hurt myself and another...
I want to be sure of WHO I want to get into a relationship with...
I need to seek GOD more...
To have loved...one would know the experience...and learn from it...
but going to one again...would take some time...although one would then know what he/she is looking out for.
To have never loved, it would be like an experiment...but it depends on the couple to thrash things out...whenever there are miscommunications..or disagreements. YES, it is not easy...
YES...there a things you suddenly find out about that someone...
BUT...if you truly love that someone...you would see past the inadequacies..and build one another up...with the help of GOD to maintain a GODLY relationship...( many that were from church have gone into relationship and backslided from GOD and CHURCH ).
I just want to ask that GOD will give us the WISDOM to know people
the PATIENCE to wait for that special someone
the STEADFAST FAITH that we will always seek him first
and the KNOWLEDGE that he will always LOVE us.
